NVIDIA's DLSS 5 adds subtle details to NBA 2K27, but demands a lot more power

DLSS 5 in NBA 2K27 adds modest texture and shadow detail to player and crowd models, visible only up close, while broader views show little change. On an RTX 5090 at 4K, it reduces frame rates from about 240 fps to 150 fps and increases power draw from roughly 400 W to 525 W, with some reports of over 600 W and cable melting. The visual improvements are minimal relative to the performance loss and power increase.
