"Offensively cheap": Solar power is looking up

Bestway Cement in Chakwal, Pakistan, is expanding its solar array, adding 6.34 MW of new capacity to the 26 MW already installed. Solar now supplies more than a quarter of the electricity used by the plant, which produces over 3 million tonnes of cement annually. The company’s general manager says the shift is essential to remain competitive, noting that rivals have already adopted similar renewable strategies.
