Oldinsurancemaps.net is now a Charter Project

OldInsuranceMaps.net, founded by Adam Cox in 2022, has been elevated to an OSM US Charter Project and now hosts more than 1,200 georeferenced Sanborn insurance maps primarily sourced from the Library of Congress. The platform lets volunteers add and stitch maps using ground-control points, supporting hobbyists, scholars, and redevelopment professionals while integrating with OpenHistoricalMap and Yesterdays workflows.
