OpenAI, Anthropic, Amazon Web Services, Microsoft and more than 100 other firms issued a joint warning that a narrow timeframe exists to ready defenses against AI-powered cyberattacks, urging coordinated industry and government action. They emphasized that adversaries can already exploit generative AI tools to automate phishing, deep-fake scams and vulnerability discovery, demanding immediate investment in detection, mitigation and policy frameworks.
