OpenAI buys camera startup Glass Imaging for over $300m, WSJ reports

OpenAI acquired Glass Imaging, a Los Altos-based AI camera startup, for more than $300 million, tripling its last $100 million valuation. Glass Imaging’s GlassAI software trains custom neural networks to correct lens aberrations and sensor imperfections in real time, aiming to deliver DSLR-level quality on smartphones. The deal follows OpenAI’s recent purchases of io and other hardware ventures, expanding its device portfolio.
