OpenAI, Google and dozens of other companies publish open letter calling for collective action on cyber defense

Over 100 firms—including OpenAI, Google, Anthropic, AWS, Cisco, Cloudflare, CrowdStrike, Hugging Face, Microsoft, Oracle and Perplexity—signed an open letter urging a collective response to AI-enabled cyber threats. The letter demands recognition that current security is insufficient, calls for AI-powered defensive tools, and urges organizations, governments and the tech industry to adopt observability, traceable agentic identities, continuous monitoring and shared best practices. It warns that AI-driven attacks will become more widespread and sophisticated within months.
