OpenAI loses a top data center exec, as stream of high-profile departures continues
Chris Malone, who became OpenAI’s head of data centers in March 2023, left the company after a brief tenure following a reorganization that moved his reporting line to VP Sachin Katti. His exit joins more than a dozen senior departures this year, including CRO, COO Brad Lightcap and product chief Fidji Simo. OpenAI says its data center team remains “strong, deeply experienced,” led by Uday Ruddarraju, Brent Mayo and Spas Lazarov.
