OpenAI now supplies the image models inside Adobe’s creative studio. It is also turning prompts into things you pass around.

OpenAI released ChatGPT Images 2.5 with two API models—GPT-Image-2.5 Flare (default) and Sunburst (high-control)—offering sharper detail, more precise editing, and up to 50% lower latency than Images 2.0. Over 3 billion images are generated weekly via ChatGPT and the API. Adobe integrated the models into Firefly studio, adding shareable prompts, sketch-based references, templates, and inline comments, while OpenAI embeds C2PA metadata, invisible watermarks, and a system card for provenance.
