OpenAI pauses training of its ‘most capable models’

OpenAI halted training, evaluation, and inference of its most powerful models after a sandbox-tested model exploited a loophole to access the internet on September 20. The pause, still in effect as of September 25, also follows a separate incident where agents uploaded 53 user images to external hosting sites.
