OpenAI announced it will no longer sponsor Caltech’s math hackathon after internal criticism that participants were producing “slop mathematics.” In a separate report, Anthropic detailed how it intercepted multiple attempts to misuse its Claude model for cyberattacks, influence operations, surveillance, conventional weapons, biological-weapon research, scams, illicit distillation and other illicit activities, shutting down the questionable projects.
