OpenAI says an internal model, described as “significantly more capable than GPT-6 Astra,” solved the Navier-Stokes Millennium Prize problem by deploying 10,000 concurrent agents for 88 hours. The company added that, although unlikely, it cannot rule out that de-identified data from mathematician Tristan Buckmaster and researcher Levent Alpöge’s use of OpenAI products contributed to the model’s development.
