OpenAI to stop supplying models to Cursor after SpaceX acquisition

OpenAI will terminate its model-supply contract with Cursor on 12 November, citing lack of confidence that SpaceX will adhere to OpenAI’s terms after SpaceX’s $60 billion acquisition of Cursor. The shutdown includes withholding the upcoming Astra model, while the existing Grok 4.5 model remains available in Cursor until the cut-off date. OpenAI says it has given the maximum contractual notice of about two and a half months and will assist developers in migrating away.
