OpenAI’s head of countries says Canada has the energy and land for data centres

OpenAI is pursuing data-centre partnerships in Canada, citing abundant energy and land, according to head of countries George Osborne. The company paused its UK Stargate project in April, citing high energy costs and regulatory uncertainty, and has already built a Norwegian site powered by Narvik hydropower with 100,000 Nvidia GPUs planned for year-end expansion.
