Opera loses EU court fight to have Microsoft Edge labelled a gatekeeper

The EU General Court rejected Opera’s request to have Microsoft Edge classified as a “gatekeeper” under the Digital Markets Act, upholding the European Commission’s decision not to designate the browser as such. The court found the Commission’s acceptance of Microsoft’s substantiated arguments was correct, leaving Edge outside the EU’s strictest tech regulations.
