Oracle tries to appease Stargate data center opponents with renewables push

Oracle issued a request for proposals to build 2 GW of renewable projects in New Mexico to offset the electricity demand of its $165 billion Project Jupiter data center for OpenAI in Santa Teresa. The data center will run on natural-gas fuel-cell generators, sparking local protests and lawsuits. Cleanview CEO Michael Thomas said the renewable projects will function as a synthetic matching program, not as direct power supply.
