Governor Josh Shapiro signed an executive order that removes AI data centres from Pennsylvania’s permit fast-track program, requiring full environmental review only after local approval is obtained. The order also prohibits state agencies from entering nondisclosure agreements related to data-centre projects, making the state considerably more restrictive for new builds.
