The Pentagon wants $30 million to build an AI-powered lie detector

The Pentagon requests $30.3 million over five years to develop “Polygraph+,” an AI-powered lie-detection system that uses machine-learning scoring and standoff sensing to read physiological signals without contact. The Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency will deploy the technology for employee vetting and insider-threat detection, following prior DIU prototypes from Presage Technologies and Altec Research.
