Proxy adviser Glass Lewis merges with Clarity AI to expand in Europe

Glass Lewis and Clarity AI merged on 23 September, creating a combined firm with over 900 staff in 20 offices, including a new Amsterdam location, and designating Madrid as its global centre for sustainability, data and AI. The new platform will link investment analysis, governance, engagement and voting, while both companies maintain client renewal rates above 90% and continue offering their existing products under a phased integration. The merger positions the firm to pursue EU ESG Ratings Regulation authorisation, with the EU law requiring ESMA approval by 2 November 2026.
