QHD, WQHD, 4K, and 5K resolution: What do they mean and which is best for you?

QHD and WQHD both denote a 2,560 × 1,440 pixel display, also called 1440p or 2K, typically in a 16:9 aspect ratio, while ultrawide 21:9 screens use UWQHD at 3,440 × 1,440. 4K displays for consumers are usually UHD at 3,840 × 2,160, whereas cinema-grade DCI 4K is 4,096 × 2,160. 2K offers a practical balance for smartphones, laptops, and gaming rigs, whereas 4K targets high-end gaming and cinematic experiences.
