Qualcomm launches two new smartphone chips with emphasis on AI

Qualcomm released Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 and Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6, each with sensing hubs that run small AI models up to 200 million parameters for local voice agents. The Extreme variant supports a 30-billion-parameter mixture-of-experts model, 8K 60fps and 4K 240fps recording, and pixel-level camera control. Both chips provide AI-enhanced audio isolation and noise reduction. Motorola’s Signature 27 will ship with the Extreme Gen 6.
