Qualcomm splits its flagship phone chip in two with the 8 Elite Gen 6

Qualcomm released Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 and Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 on TSMC’s 2 nm process. The Extreme version has a 13% faster CPU, 44% faster GPU, 35% faster NPU, 8K@60 fps, 4K@240 fps, and Adreno Neural Fusion. The standard version offers 10% CPU, 35% GPU, 14% NPU gains, 8K@30 fps, and 4K@120 fps. Both use the Oryon CPU with two 5 GHz prime cores and six 4 GHz performance cores. Qualcomm claims the Extreme chip supports 32,000-token context windows for on-device AI.
