Revolut is piloting facial recognition at store checkouts in the UK

Revolut is testing its Pay with Smile facial-recognition checkout at select Kiss the Hippo coffee shops in London, using its Revolut Register POS hardware. The system enrolls customers, verifies identity with stored facial embeddings, and deletes the embeddings after each transaction, keeping all data within Revolut’s proprietary environment. The trial aims to reduce payment friction and is available to UK Revolut users until September 26.
