Ring introduces a new encryption standard, makes it the default for cloud features

Ring will make its TAKE (Throw Away the Key Encryption) protocol the default for video encryption, using rotating cloud-stored keys that expire after 24 hours. TAKE extends IETF MLS, supports key recovery via nearby cameras, passphrase, cloud backup, another device, or passkeys, while still allowing end-to-end encryption. The rollout starts in September and will be global.
