Ring says its new encryption limits what it can give police

Ring has introduced TAKE (Throw Away the Key Encryption) for all its cameras, which limits Amazon’s cloud access to recorded videos while still enabling smart alerts, AI-powered video search, and video descriptions. The new encryption will roll out gradually starting in September and will become the default for every Ring customer, regardless of subscription status.
