A robot could eventually conduct your blood draw at the doctor's office

The FDA approved Aletta, a standalone robotic system that uses near-infrared light and Doppler ultrasound to locate a vein, then automatically applies a tourniquet, inserts and disposes of a needle, and places a bandage. Clinical data showed draw success rates comparable to or better than human phlebotomists, and one operator can supervise up to three units.
