Russel Vought will reportedly be given veto power over all NIH grants

Russell Vought, head of the Office of Management and Budget, will receive veto power over every NIH grant, according to a White House meeting report. The NIH, the world’s largest biomedical research funder, distributes a $47 billion budget that exceeds the combined budgets of the next ten research agencies. This change would place all individual grant approvals under Vought’s control.
