Sam Altman pitches US utilities on OpenAI’s Daybreak programme for grid defence

Sam Altman and OpenAI’s global energy policy chief John McCarrick have been meeting U.S. electric-utility executives since July, urging them to adopt OpenAI’s “Daybreak” AI models to protect the grid from autonomous cyberattacks. The outreach continued at the industry’s annual conference in Colorado Springs, where they presented the technology’s defensive capabilities.
