The open-source Scikit-decide framework, combined with Dr. Junzi Sun’s OpenAP performance model and NOAA wind data, optimizes flight paths to reduce jet fuel consumption. This technical stack utilizes Python 3.12, DuckDB, and QGIS to calculate efficient trajectories, offering a viable alternative to proprietary airline scheduling and fuel management software.
