The Seattle Times and Newsday have filed a lawsuit against OpenAI and Microsoft, claiming the firms trained their AI models on the newspapers’ journalism without permission, despite Microsoft’s financial support of the Seattle Times. OpenAI responded to the “wiki incident” by announcing a framework for reporting misalignment incidents throughout model training, evaluation, and deployment.
