Sexually Explicit Deepfake Sites Target 100-Plus Politicians in Europe

Researchers examined 160 deepfake porn sites and found 138 women MPs from 22 EU countries featured or referenced, versus nine male MPs, making women 33 times more likely to be targeted. Sites list MPs’ names, photos, and links to deepfake creation tools. Senior politicians and those from Germany, the Netherlands, Italy, and France were most frequently targeted. The study, published by Agora Digitale Transformation, alerted affected MPs and highlighted the psychological and reputational harm caused by such abuse.
