Singapore is putting S$220M into fintech as private funding hits a decade low

Singapore will spend S$220 million over three years via the fourth Financial Sector Technology and Innovation scheme, covering AI adoption, infrastructure and a talent track that secures at least 1,000 fintech internships with co-funded stipends. In H1 2026, fintech financing fell to $499 million across 53 deals, with a $320 million cross-border payments round representing nearly two-thirds of the total. The ecosystem includes about 1,800 firms, 10,000 employees and generated S$3 billion in 2025.
