Skanska takes a $1.2bn order to build four US data centres for an unnamed client

Skanska won a $1.2 billion contract to build four data-centre facilities of about 75,000 m2 in the southeastern U.S., covering shell construction and interior fit-out for technical, support and office areas. Work begins in Q3 2024 and ends in Q3 2028. The order, recorded as SEK 11.2 billion, adds to an existing pipeline of $255 million in Georgia and $238 million and $94 million in Virginia, bringing data-centre projects to roughly one-tenth of Skanska’s SEK 297.5 billion backlog.
