Skip the 5K monitor for gaming and go with a 4K instead — here's why

4K monitors provide 8.29 million pixels and support 240 Hz refresh rates, allowing titles such as Resident Evil Requiem and Cyberpunk 2077 to run smoothly on GPUs like the RTX 4070 or Radeon RX 9070 XT, with DLSS and FSR upscaling preserving image quality. 5K panels contain 14.7 million pixels—77% more than 4K—target graphics professionals, cost about $650 versus $200 for entry-level 4K, and typically cap at 165–180 Hz.
