Sony Music and Warner Chappell are suing Anthropic

Sony Music and Warner Chappell sued Anthropic in the Northern District of California, claiming infringement of tens of thousands of works and demanding up to $150,000 per work plus $25,000 for each instance where copyright data was removed, which could total several billion dollars. The lawsuit follows Anthropic’s recent $1.5 billion settlement with the publishing industry and other pending cases.
