South Park creators rename show 'South America'

Matt Stone and Trey Parker announced that the 29th season of their animated series will be retitled “South America,” echoing President Donald Trump’s recent attempts to rename Lake Ontario and the Gulf of Mexico as “Lake America” and “Gulf of America.” The change was posted on the show’s official accounts alongside a modified sign graphic, and follows the series’ recent Emmy win for Outstanding Animated Program. The new season premieres on 16 September.
