SpaceX is building a $100 billion 'Starbase' launch site in Louisiana

SpaceX will construct a 125,000-acre “Starbase” launch complex on Louisiana’s Pecan Island, featuring five launch complexes each with two pads, a propellant production plant, power generation, vehicle processing facilities, and employee housing. The site aims to support thousands of annual Starship flights to orbit, the Moon, Mars and polar data-satellite missions, with construction starting in 2027 and the first launch slated for 2029.
