SpaceX will build a second, $100B ‘Starbase’ spaceport in Louisiana

SpaceX will build a second Starship launch site on a former Exxon property in Vermilion Parish, Louisiana, investing $100 billion with construction starting in 2027 and first launch projected for 2029. The new Starbase will include propellant production, power generation, deep-water shipping, vehicle processing, and an airport, and is expected to create 3,000 direct jobs over ten years and peak construction employment of 30,000.
