SpaceX will attempt to place the Starship upper stage into Earth’s orbit for the first time on September 22. The mission includes deploying 26 third-generation Starlink satellites to generate revenue. Engineers implemented hardware and software modifications to the Super Heavy booster and updated the heat shield following data recovered from the previous flight’s upper stage.
