Spirit Airlines Wants to Sell Its Data to Google. Former Flight Attendants Are Freaked Out

Google won a $10 million bid to acquire 34 years of Spirit Airlines’ operational data—including over 1 million time-card records, 175 000 employee files, 150 000 tax forms, 80 000 email accounts, 17 million OneDrive items and 500 million Teams records—excluding customer personal information. The Association of Flight Attendants, representing 5 500 former crew members, filed a legal objection, arguing the employee data is overly sensitive and that existing privacy safeguards are insufficient.
