Stripe seals its OpenRouter deal for a reported $7.5bn or more

Stripe is buying OpenRouter, a gateway that routes requests to 400+ AI models from 80+ providers and processes over 10 trillion tokens daily for more than 10 million users. The deal is reported at $7.5-$8 billion, far above OpenRouter’s previous $1.3 billion valuation. Stripe says the acquisition will help businesses manage AI token spend, while OpenRouter will keep its name and roadmap.
