Suno replaces its AI models with a new one trained on licensed music as copyright suits pile up

Suno launched the Suno v6 family—base, wild, and mini models—trained exclusively on licensed data from Warner Music Group, BMG and Believe, replacing the copyrighted datasets used in earlier versions. The new models allow lyric editing, instrument isolation, and multimodal references, while Suno plans a remix program, watermarks, and tiered download limits amid ongoing lawsuits from Sony, Universal, and artists.
