Sydney Marathon medal mistakenly depicts Munich stadium

The 2026 Sydney Marathon medal shows a stadium that matches Munich’s Allianz Arena rather than Sydney’s Allianz Stadium, despite the race’s 42.2 km course passing the latter. The double-sided medal also features a gold-indigo pattern by First Nations artist Ambrose Killian and 42 half-round markings denoting each kilometre. The design error follows a similar mistake in last year’s Great North Run medals.
