T-Mobile ‘chopped a cable’ to expel Chinese hackers from its network

T-Mobile’s security team detected activity from the China-backed Salt Typhoon group and isolated the intrusion by physically severing the cable linking a compromised router to the external network. The breach was discovered after months of monitoring, and the cut prevented the attackers from accessing T-Mobile’s systems.
