TALA Is Open-Source

TALA, Terrastruct’s orthogonal auto-layout algorithm for software architecture diagrams, is now open-source under MPL-2.0 and bundled with D2 v0.9.0, supporting custom node positions, partial coordinate specifications, and AI-generated layouts while balancing symmetry, distance, flow, and clustering. It is slower on large graphs, uses three random seeds for optimal layouts, and performs less well on DAGs compared with Dagre and ELK.
