TAR raises $120m at a $1bn valuation to build off-grid power for AI

TAR raised $120 million in a Series A led by Spark Capital, valuing the Austin firm at $1 billion. It builds self-contained, modular off-grid power systems that combine solar, batteries and backup natural-gas generators for AI data centres in West Texas, handling site selection, design, construction and operation with proprietary automation software and robotics.
