Tesla and others recall over 4 million vehicles in China over hidden door handles

Tesla and 10 other automakers recalled nearly 4.3 million vehicles in China because hidden door handles could be difficult to open if electrical systems fail after a crash. The recall affects about 3 million Tesla Model 3, Model Y, Model S and Model X vehicles, and includes free warning labels and software fixes that lower windows automatically. China will ban concealed handles in 2027, requiring mechanical releases on all doors.
