Tesla asked Las Vegas for 5,000 robotaxis and Nevada granted 10

Tesla asked Nevada’s Transportation Authority to run up to 5,000 driver-less robotaxis in Clark County for a year, but on July 27 the Authority capped the fleet at ten vehicles, limited them to the Las Vegas Strip corridor, barred speeds above 45 mph, and prohibited pick-ups within a quarter-mile of Harry Reid International Airport. Each car must display “Robotaxi,” warn riders it is driverless, be supervised per SAE standards, and Tesla must report crashes, security incidents, or system failures within five working days.
