Tesla starts offering Cybercab robotaxi rides

Tesla has launched the Cybercab robotaxi service via its iOS and Android Robotaxi app, with rides currently available only in Austin, Texas, though the app lists other cities. The fleet in Texas includes 314 driver-less vehicles—45 Cybercabs lacking steering wheels and brakes, featuring bench seating for two passengers and a central touchscreen. Tesla owns these Cybercabs, plans to sell them to fleet operators, and is taking inquiries to expand its robotaxi network.
