Tesla, Uber, and Waymo all get the OK to operate thousands of robotaxis in Nevada
The Nevada Transportation Authority granted permits for up to 8,000 robotaxis in Clark County—5,000 for Tesla, 1,000 each for Waymo and Uber (via Motional and Zoox). Tesla’s chief engineer said the company plans to deploy about 2,500 vehicles. Uber intends a hybrid network combining human drivers with autonomous cars. Local taxi groups opposed the plan, citing market oversaturation and potential congestion in the Golden Triangle.
