Tesla’s Austin robotaxis are now fully driverless, tracking shows

Tesla’s Austin robotaxi fleet completed 170 rides without a human safety monitor, per the updated Robotaxi Tracker data. The tracker now reports nearly twice the previous unsupervised vehicle count in Austin and about 30 driverless Teslas operating in Dallas and Houston. A passenger video showed a vehicle driving through plastic bollards, demonstrating reliance on onboard compute and mapping rather than lidar or remote human intervention.
